What Do We Know So Far About Season 26 Of The Voice?

Some big changes are coming to The Voice next season.

Season 25 of The Voice ended on Tuesday (May 21), with Team Reba’s Asher HaVon being named the winner. But before HaVon was crowned the winner of Season 25, we already knew some key details about Season 26.

On May 13, The Voice announced its coaches for Season 26. The unexpected lineup will feature two returning coaches and two brand-new faces.

Reigning champion Reba McEntire will remain on the show. Fan-favorite coach Gwen Stefani is returning to join her in the lineup.

Meanwhile, new coaches Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé will bring a fresh dynamic to the program.

Sadly, that means we had to say “goodbye for now” to Season 25 coaches Dan+ Shay, Chance the Rapper, and John Legend.

Voice Showrunner Drops Hints About Changes & New Additions

The coaching lineup isn’t the only thing changing on The Voice next season. Showrunner Audrey Morrissey hinted at some more changes and additions coming to the show during the recent NBC FYC Emmy campaign panel.

Morrissey, who has been with The Voice since its start in 2011, said she’s always thinking of things “to add to the engine of the show.”

What are the new twists that aren’t just interesting but that feel really germane and make sense for the show?” she said, as reported by NBC Insider. “We’re constantly thinking about that return on investment.”

Morrisey mentioned how they’re considering adding a new round to the competition next season:

Much like how we rotate the Chairs to just keep a fresh dynamic, you want that for Rounds to keep that fresh. So we might be moving Rounds,” she said.

Does that mean the orders of the Battles, Knockouts, and Playoffs may be changing to make room for a new round? We’ll have to wait and see when Season 26 of The Voice premieres later this year, likely in the fall.
