Meet Phil Robertson’s Long-Lost Daughter, Phyllis Robertson Thomas
Phil Robertson’s daughter, Phyllis, honored him in a heartfelt tribute on the first Father’s Day since he passed away.
Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson spent most of his life believing he was the father of four sons (whom he shared with his wife, Miss Kay). But in 2020, he received life-changing news when he learned he had a long-lost daughter.
Phil lived a wayward lifestyle in the ’70s. He drank, he cheated on Miss Kay, and he hadn’t yet devoted his life to Jesus. Phyllis was the child of an affair Phil had during those troublesome years before he found his faith and recommitted to Kay and his family.
The next 40+ years passed without Phyllis knowing who her father was. She finally started putting the pieces together and reached out to the Robertsons in 2020. A DNA test proved Phil was her dad.
“I put my hands on her face and I looked into her eyes to see if I could see a little of me in there. And I did,” Phil recalled of his first meeting with Phyllis. “And I thought, ‘Welcome aboard.’ A daughter I didn’t know I had. She was lost, but now she’s found.”

Phyllis and her family moved to Louisiana so she could be closer to the Robertsons. She spent the next five years trying to make up for lost time with her dad. They went duck hunting, and he taught her some of his go-to recipes.
She said cooking with her dad and eating the food they prepared were some of her “favorite memories“ of him.
Phyllis Shares Father’s Day Tribute To Her Dad
Sadly, Phil Robertson passed away on May 25 at the age of 79. The Duck Dynasty patriarch had been battling Alzheimer’s disease and a blood disorder.
Phyllis shared a heartfelt tribute to her dad after his death, writing:
“We’re truly moved by the overwhelming love and prayers shared by so many whose lives were impacted by Dad. We wish we had more time, but we have overwhelming joy knowing he has met Jesus face to face.”

Phyllis shared another tribute to her dad on Father’s Day (June 15). In the post, she also recognized her husband, Tony, and her son, who has two kids.
“Father’s Day feels different this year. It’s my first without my dad here, and I miss him deeply. But even in the ache, I see God’s goodness in the men around me—my husband, and now my son as he raises two sons of his own. What a gift to witness the love, strength, and faith passed down from one generation to the next.”
She ended her post by writing, “I’m thankful for Tony, who leads with God’s wisdom and a steady heart—and for the legacy of faith my dad left behind. We carry it forward, with hope.”
