Wilson delivered a powerful acceptance speech after winning Female Artist of the Year. She thanked her family, her team, and Jesus. Wilson also paid tribute to the female artists who paved the path for her…including her fellow nominees.

The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer ended her speech by saying:

“I made so many sacrifices – missing a lot of weddings and funerals. Not like I want to go to all of them anyway, but I’m just saying. For the little girls watching this, this stands for hard work. If you are going to be a dreamer, you better be a doer.”

Lainey Wilson Proves Herself With 2 Incredible Performances

Just minutes after Wilson claimed the Female Artist of the Year award, she took to the stage for not one, but two incredible performances.

Wilson joined Jelly Roll as his surprise duet partner on a then-new song, “Save Me.” The duo later took the song to the #1 spot on the Country Airplay chart.

After singing with Jelly Roll, Wilson burst into a solo performance of her own song, “Grease.”

“Grease” is featured as a track on Wilson’s album Bell Bottom Country, which won the ACM’s Album of the Year award. It later went on to win the Grammy for Best Country Album as well.
