2023 CMA Entertainer of the Year and current force to be reckoned with, Lainey Wilson, was the special guest on Tuesday’s (March 5) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. The Grammy-award winner sat down with host Kelly Clarkson to discuss her recent achievements and what inspires her as she moves forward.
Broadcaster and journalist Hoda Kotb also joined in on the fun and the trio shared many laughs.

Lainey Wilson shares her mantra inspired by Dolly Parton
Former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson asked Lainey Wilson to share the mantra that she lives by. The “Heart Like A Truck” singer said that she has many but the one that she references daily is “WWdoubleD.”
“That is ‘What Would Dolly do?'”
Both Kelly and Lainey express their admiration for country music royalty, Dolly Parton.
“She is so kind. So cool. So genuine. Even better in person than on TV,” gushed Kelly. Lainey shared the same sentiment and added:
“It’s really cool when you see that people are just as kind as they are talented… She’s given me so much advice… I look up to her a whole lot. I think she is, she’s the best.”

Kelly Clarkson and Lainey Wilson stun with “Kellyoke” performance
The two powerhouse singers combined their talents for Kellyoke and sang an electric duet of Lainey’s newest song “Country’s Cool Again.” Kellyoke is a regular segment of the show, during which Kelly and her band perform covers that are either requested by fans or are originally by artists who have inspired Kelly.
