Hannah Harper recently shared a little insight into her new life as the latest winner of American Idol.
Harper performed an original song for her Idol audition, titled “String Cheese.” The track was inspired by her struggles with postpartum depression following the birth of her third child. Her performance had judge Carrie Underwood in tears, and it immediately resonated with millions of people.
Harper continued to showcase her talent as a singer and storyteller throughout the competition. She was named the winner of Season 24 on May 11, with Jordan McCullough coming in second place, followed by Keyla Richardson in third.

Since winning Idol, Harper has kept her followers in the loop with everything she has planned. On May 29, just a little under three weeks after the Idol finale, she shared an unfiltered, honest look at her life right now.
On Facebook, Harper posted a photo of herself wearing a pink t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops. She was surrounded by takeout Mexican food and holding a Styrofoam cup while smiling for the camera.
“I know y’all picture me winning American Idol and living some fancy celebrity life now,” Harper joked in the caption. Then she explained what her life is really like…and she loves it.
“Here I am in the luxurious sawmill studio tracking vocals, spending my lunch break with a big ol’ styrofoam cup of queso from the local Mexican restaurant. Honestly, I’ve never felt more successful. Getting to make music with people I love, in a place that means so much to me, and having a hand in EVERY detail of the process—that’s the dream.”
She ended her post by writing, “I can’t wait for y’all to hear what we’ve been working on.” You can see that post below.
What Does Life Have In Store For Hannah Harper After Her American Idol Win?
Shortly after she won Season 24 of American Idol, Hannah Harper let fans know what she has planned for her life and career in the immediate future.
“I knew that I was gonna hit the ground running as soon as I left here,” she told On the Red Carpet after the finale.
Harper planned to take a two-week break before returning to work. She said, “Almost every weekend until like September, October, we’re gonna be touring…the String Cheese tour!“

Harper officially announced The String Cheese Tour on May 19. The trek starts on June 2 in Nashville (the same day she’ll make her Grand Ole Opry debut) and lasts through November 14, concluding in Bartlett, Tennessee.
Additionally, Harper is opening for fellow Idol alum Lauren Alaina on select dates of her Stages Tour this fall. Plus, Harper is scheduled to sing at the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on October 30 and September 1.
