Zach Top Covers Keith Whitley

Zach Top is no stranger to classic covers and regularly mixes them into his live shows. During a recent Nashville concert, he paid homage to the legendary Keith Whitley.

Keith Whitley passed away long before his time in 1989 at the age of 34. Although his life and career were cut short, his music had a lasting impact. The talented musician was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022 and as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2023.

His third and final studio album, I Wonder Do You Think Of Me, was released in 1990, three months after his death. The project featured one of Whitley’s most loved songs, “I’m Over You.”

Countless artists have covered the ballad, including Whitley’s own son, Jesse Keith. Enjoy his acoustic version below!

Zach Top’s rendition of the hit song had the sold-out audience in awe at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. Armed with just an acoustic guitar and a microphone, he performed the song beautifully in a way that we are sure would have made Whitley proud.
