In January 2024, it was announced that Reba McEntire would be back on television starring in her own sitcom.
After over 20 years after her show Reba premiered, the legendary McEntire is getting her own sitcom again!
Titled Happy’s Place, McEntire will play Bobbie, a woman who inherits her father’s restaurants after he passes away. She also discovers she has to share the restaurant with a half-sister, Isabella (played by Belissa Escobedo), who she doesn’t know she has.
Familiar faces also joined the cast.
Melissa Peterman, who fans will remember as Barbra Jean from the show Reba, stars alongside her longtime pal as Gabby, a bartender at the restaurant.
Another familiar face is Rex Linn, McEntire’s real-life boyfriend. He plays Emmett, a cook at Happy’s Place.

Will any other Reba stars make an appearance on Happy’s Place?
Even after all these years, the Reba cast remains incredibly close. They reunited on many occasions, most recently in the fall of 2023 for Christopher Knight’s birthday. Knight famously played Brock Hart on Reba, McEntire’s ex-husband on the show.
Before that, Steve Howey (Van), Joanna Garcia Swisher (Cheyenne), and Peterman watched McEntire’s Hollywood Bowl concert.
Because of their close-knit relationship and their always showing up for each other, fans have wondered (and hoped!) if more Reba cast members will make appearances.
People recently caught up with Garcia Swisher and asked if she was excited about Happy’s Place.
“I told [Peterman and McEntire] the other day, I was like, I’m going to be there for the first taping, and I’m going to be the audience member that’s going to laugh at all of their jokes,” she said. “Yes, I’m so excited for them!”
She called Peterman and McEntire “gold” as a duo on screen, adding Linn to that equation, “I think they’re going to have so much fun.”
“I know what the warmth of that set being led by Reba feels like. It’s just going to be a great experience. It’s such a gift. It was the perfect opportunity.”
People asked if she would do a cameo on Happy’s Place, to which she responded, “Yes! They know I would do anything for them!”
The Steel Magnolias star continued, “A hundred percent, I would do the show. But more importantly, I’m just excited to watch the show because I am really excited for all of them. It’s going to be great.”
We also can’t wait for Happy’s Place, which premieres on October 18th on NBC.
