Reba McEntire is not only making a return to television in the new sitcom “Happy’s Place,” but she’s also lending her voice to sing the show’s theme song.

“Oh, definitely. I’ll be singing the theme song. We’ve started working on it, and we’ll have it soon finished,” McEntire tells in an interview with PEOPLE. “If they say it’s a go, I’ll finish it up and have it ready for when we go to series.”

Of course, we all know this isn’t the first time McEntire has performed a sitcom theme song. She previously sang the theme song for the hit show Reba, her 2001 single “I’m a Survivor.”

With “Happy’s Place” officially picked up to series at NBC on May 7th, McEntire is eager to dive back into the world of television, especially with familiar faces like former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman and her boyfriend Rex Lynn joining the cast.

“Rex Linn, my boyfriend, is also part of the show. We’ve got a great ensemble with same producers, showrunner and writers as we had with the Reba show, and it’s a great script,” McEntire said.

What Is “Happy’s Place” About?

In “Happy’s Place,” McEntire will not only star but also act as an executive producer. The comedy follows her character, Bobbie, as she inherits her father’s restaurant after his passing.

“My [character Bobbie’s] dad was Happy, that was his name, and we owned a tavern called Happy’s Place,” she says. “Well, Happy passed, and so he’s passed the tavern onto me, but there’s a little hiccup involved, so that’s the mystery right there. Everybody has to tune in and watch it, and I hope they love it.”

In “Happy’s Place,” the “hiccup”  comes when Reba McEntire’s character discovers that her business partner is actually her long-lost half-sister, portrayed by Belissa Escobedo. Alongside McEntire, her former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman will play Gabby, a bartender at Bobbie’s recently inherited bar.

As of right now, no further details regarding airing or filming dates have been announced by McEntire or the television network.
