The Duck Dynasty Family Recalled One Of Their Most Comical Hunting Accidents
The Robertson family had a bad batch of Miss Kay’s meatloaf, and chaos ensued. Before Phil Robertson’s death on May 25th, 2025, the Duck Dynasty star started a podcast about his faith.
The podcast is titled Unashamed and features multiple members of his family.
His sons, Jase and Alan, were his most regular co-hosts. During a podcast released over three years ago, the family recalled one of their funniest family moments that had them laughing for minutes.

The Meatloaf Disaster
On the podcast, the family recalled a time when one of Miss Kay’s meatloaves didn’t turn out well. The next day, the boys were in the duck blind, and as you can probably guess, it did not go well for the Duck Dynasty family. Jase shared a conversation that he and Jep had saying:
“Well, he woke up and he said, ‘Man, I don’t know what’s wrong with me this morning.’ And I said, ‘I do.’ But he kept talking. He said, ‘I kept waking up in the middle of the night.’ But I saw, you know, he’s a big bowed-up guy. I saw the amount of meatloaf that he ate, and it was three times what I ate. And I ate until I was full. I said, ‘When I saw your plate, in my mind, it immediately, I hit the fast-forward button. You got trouble coming up.’ I said. Your body can’t handle that.”
The whole family was hunting with what Phil called “bowel problems.”ย Apparently, Jep went behind the duck blind, and when he returned, he said, “I had some problems, man.”
The men then laughed for minutes on end as they recalled the whole ordeal.
Phil Robertson did defend Miss Kay’s honor during the conversation, saying that her cooking only gave him “problems” five times over the course of his 75 years.
