Black Bear With Only Two Legs Captured On Trail Cam
A black bear with only two legs was captured on a trail cam in West Virginia. YouTuber Kirk Price filmed the bear and shared the footage on his YouTube channel. Price, an outdoorsman from West Virginia, is known for posting videos that are similar to those of the late Steve Irwin.
In an interview with USA Today, Price shared details of his encounter with the remarkable bear. He estimated the bear to be around 8 years old and male. According to Price, he first encountered the bear in 2018 when it was smaller, and it “has since nearly doubled in size.”
Price also mentioned that when he first saw the bear, it was already walking around by itself, indicating that it was likely not a cub. Price explained that cubs usually stay with their mother until they are close to 2 years old, which helped him estimate the bear’s age.

The Most Recent Encounter
Price has said that he has only gotten the opportunity to see the bear in person once as “He’s very illusive and is rarely spotted in person. He lives in the mountains. Believe it or not he moves around quite a bit. He has roughly a 5-mile radius.”
There is much speculation about how the bear came to only have two legs. With some believing it was due to hunters. Price says he “firmly believes” the bear was born that way and said:
“I firmly believe he was born that way and has overcome all odds. That’s what the focus should be on. This bear is truly amazing,”
