Riley Green Sings Acoustic Version of His Original Holiday Song
On November 22, Riley Green released his Christmas song “Christmas to Me,” just in time for the holiday season.
The song is personal for Green because it shares his cherished memories of spending Christmas with his family growing up.
From remembering everyone gathering happily at Grandma’s house to family arguements over his sister’s new tattoo, the song is a nostalgic tune that many people can probably relate to.
Riley Green posted a video on his social media of him delivering a stripped-down rendition of his new Christmas track.
In the video, Green sits with a guitar in hand, strumming as he sings the lyrics:
“Right now Grandma’s yard / Looks like a parking lot / Daddy’s making one last trip / Down to Bass Pro Shop / Everybody’s favorite covered up in grandmas wrap / All them grandkids lined up to sit on grandpas lap / Everybody’s in their Sunday best”
“And all them in-laws are showin’ up late / For a five star meal on a paper plate / The sound of bare foot feet runnin’ through the house / The football game’s just about to start / About the time momma has a come-apart / Cause of sister’s new tattoo she just found out about / There’s a string of lights all tangled around the tree / That’s Christmas to me”
Fans praised the acoustic version, with many saying the song brings back the holiday spirit they felt as kids.
“This is the most realistic southern Christmas song and day in the life of Christmas,” a fan wrote in the videos comment section.
“The perfect nostalgic song,” another said.

It’s been a big year for Green. A month before releasing “Christmas to Me,” he dropped his third studio album Don’t Mind If I Do. On top of that, he celebrated a major milestone by winning his very first CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year alongside Ella Langley for their viral duet “You Look Like You Love Me.”
