Duck Dynasty Star Rebecca Robertson Thought She Was Done Having Kids Before Becoming Pregnant With Her Third Child
Rebecca Robertson recently shared the “funny” story behind learning she was pregnant with Baby #3.
The Duck Dynasty star and her husband, John Reed Loflin, already shared two children: son Zane (born January 11, 2019) and daughter Holland (born December 24, 2021). As Rebecca revealed in a recent Instagram post, after Holland’s birth, she and John Reed decided they “were done having biological kids and planning to adopt down the line.”
Several members of the Robertson family have adopted children. Rebecca herself was taken in by Willie and Korie Robertson, who started fostering her when she was 16.
Willie and Korie have also adopted two sons, Will Jr. and Rowdy. Additionally, Willie’s brother, Jep, and his wife, Jesscia, adopted their son, Gus.

Since Rebecca believed she and John Reed were done having kids, she scheduled a breast augmentation after she was finished breastfeeding Holland.
“I had done all the research, picked the doctor, booked the date, and jumped through every hoop to prepare. We were even taking all precautions to make sure there were no surprises,” she said.
Rebecca had never had surgery before, so she was understandably nervous. She had a routine pregnancy test before she went in for the operation, and recalled joking with the nurse, “Can you imagine someone finding out they’re pregnant right before surgery?!”
Rebecca said the nurse laughed and remarked that had never happened to her before.
Rebecca Learned She Was Expecting Right Before She Went In For Surgery
A few minutes later, the nurse returned to the room and said, “Umm… you’re actually pregnant.”
Rebecca thought the nurse was joking, but she made it clear she was serious. She said, “No—I tested twice. You’re 100% pregnant.”
Rebecca recalled how shocked she was in that moment, saying, “I just stood there in my hospital gown—jaw on the floor—while John Reed and I looked at each other like… HOW?!“

She continued telling her story in the comments section of her post. After taking a moment to process everything, she and John Reed couldn’t stop laughing.
“We told the nurse we were happy—even if totally thrown off—and she admitted she was so relieved because she had no idea how we were gonna react. And yeah… surgery was obviously canceled and we were sent home to ‘celebrate.’ I walked out of that place with a whole new baby on the way and a team of nurses clapping for us like we just won the pregnancy lottery. Apparently I was the first patient this ever happened to there.“
Both grandmothers were already at home to help John Reed and Rebecca with the kids while she recovered from surgery. So the couple went ahead and shared their surprise with them then:
“…everyone was expecting a different kind of bump. So when I told them the news… let’s just say it was the most ‘Rebecca’ pregnancy reveal of all time.”
Rebecca and John Reed’s third child, son Alexander “Xander” Reed (named after Rebecca’s grandfather, Phil Alexander Robertson), was born on October 30, 2024.
