Madison Curbelo Dazzles with “Landslide” Cover on ‘The Voice’

NBC The Voice

Voice contestant Madison Curbelo sings an enchanting cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”

Aspiring singer Madison Curbelo shined from the Voice stage during the last round of playoffs. Stepping up to the mic without her guitar for a change, the Team Dan + Shay member performed a beautiful rendition of the hit song “Landslide.”

“Landslide,” which was originally released by Fleetwood Mac in 1975, went on to be included in Rolling Stones’  2021 list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.”

Following her performance Dan Mooney gushed:

“There’s something about your voice that carries more than just notes. It doesn’t just go to my ears, it goes to my soul. That was the first time I got the chills. I never get chills. I could talk about you all night.”

Madison Curbelo was originally rejected from The Voice

Madison Curbelo originally auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice but was disappointed when she did not receive any chair turns during the blind auditions. At the time, the coaches expressed that they felt she needed more experience and was just “not ready.”

It was clear that she turned the rejection into motivation because when she returned to audition for Season 25, she was rewarded with a four-chair turn! Madison reflected on her growth in recent years:

“I would say confidence is the biggest thing that’s changed. I’ve been writing so much music, so I kind of discovered the sound that I love and just finding Madison, I think, was a big thing.”

Dan + Shay decide which of their team members will advance to the Top 12

Ultimately, coaches Dan + Shay must select three artists to send to the live shows and two artists to send home. Their first choice of a contestant to move forward to the next round of competition is… Madison Curbelo!

Madison will be joined by fellow teammates Karen Waldrup and Tae Lewis in the Top 12.
