Luke Combs has officially announced that a full “dad-life” album is coming!
By now, Combs’s fans may have anticipated the release of an album due to his consistent teasers of new music on his social media platforms over the past few months. Each song has been centered around fatherhood as heartfelt tributes to his two sons, Tex and Beau.

In a recent interview with Taste of Country Nights, Combs shared the inspiration behind the series of sentimental “dad” songs he has been hinting at recently.
“Obviously, that’s kind of where my headspace is. It’s just kind of hard to write or focus on anything else other than that. That’s what my world is right now,” Combs shared. “I’m lucky to get to spend three or four days a week at home with the kids. We play two nights a week, so the rest of the days I’m home with them. That’s what I’m doing. I go out and play some shows and come home and make breakfast and lunches and naps and diapers.”
On Thursday, June 6, Combs took to social media to announce that his new album, Fathers & Sons, is finished and ready to be released. As an exciting surprise for fans, Combs revealed that the album will be out next week, on June 14!

Luke Combs Releases First Song Off New Album
Just two days before his announcement about the album, Combs dropped the first song from it, “The Man He Sees In Me,” which is all about living up to your child’s expectations.
Combs first teased the song back in January by posting a touching home video of him singing the lyrics:
“I hope he never finds out that I didn’t hang the moon /
And I’ve never scared a monster out the closet in his room /
Someday between him leaving home and driving on my knee /
Maybe I’ll finally be, the man he sees in me.”

Combs included a heartfelt message to his children within his announcement about the song’s release date. Before you read it below, you may want to have a box of tissues nearby.
The note read:
“To my boys, First and foremost I will always love you, no matter what. With this song I want you to know that even though I’m not perfect, I try my hardest every day to be the best version of myself for you both. I’ll make mistakes along the way and some days you’ll be sick of your old man I’m sure but dang we’ll have some fun too. I can’t wait to see what you both turn out to be like and I hope someday down the road I get to watch you and your kids do the same. Love, Dad.”
