For the past few months, Luke Combs has been teasing a series of heartfelt songs centered around fatherhood.
But the country star just revealed some exciting news. He is finally getting ready to drop one for good! Better get your tissues ready.
Combs is now a father to two young boys. He and his wife Nicole celebrated the arrival of their second son, Beau Lee, in August 2023, joining their oldest son, Tex Lawrence.
Since he has been in his new “dad era,” fans have been getting a taste of some new, heartfelt songs about a more personal part of his life.

One of the songs he teased is called “The Man He Sees In Me,” which he shared on March 13.
Combs co-wrote the song with Nashville songwriter Josh Phillips and includes the lyrics:
“I hope he never finds out that I didn’t hang the moon /
And I’ve never scared a monster out the closet in his room /
Someday between him leaving home and driving on my knee /
Maybe I’ll finally be, the man he sees in me.”
The song is all about living up to your child’s expectations.
Combs previously shared the heartfelt acoustic rendition of the new song in a touching home video posted in January.
Seated on the floor, Combs played the complete acoustic version, which received an immediate and overwhelmingly positive response from fans, sending it straight to the recording studio for an official release.

Speaking with Taste of Country Nights, Combs revealed the reasoning behind all of the “dad” songs he’s been teasing lately.
“Obviously, that’s kind of where my headspace is. It’s just kind of hard to write or focus on anything else other than that. That’s what my world is right now.”
Combs continued, “I’m lucky to get to spend three or four days a week at home with the kids. We play two nights a week, so the rest of the days I’m home with them. That’s what I’m doing. I go out and play some shows and come home and make breakfast and lunches and naps and diapers.”
On Tuesday, June 4, Luke Combs shared on his social media that “The Man He Sees In Me” will officially be released this Thursday, June 6, at 4 PM ET!
Combs included a touching note to his kids in his post. (It’s pretty difficult not to shed a tear when reading this one.)
“To my boys…” the note reads. “First and foremost I will always love you, no matter what. With this song I want you to know that even though I’m not perfect, I try my hardest every day to be the best version of myself for you both. I’ll make mistakes along the way and some days you’ll be sick of your old man I’m sure but dang we’ll have some fun too. I can’t wait to see what you both turn out to be like and I hope someday down the road I get to watch you and your kids do the same. Love, Dad.”
