Lainey Wilson & Lauren Alaina Sample Luke Bryan’s Hit Song In Their Cheeky New Duet, “Thicc As Thieves”

On June 9, Lauren Alaina released a duet with Lainey Wilson. The song is titled “Thicc As Thieves,” and it’s featured on Alaina’s new EP, Unlocked.

“Thicc As Thieves” has Alaina and Wilson singing about how they’ll always have each other’s backs…and backsides. The cheeky song includes lyrics such as, “We’re thicker than our accents, thicker than our hair. Thicker than the Georgia and Louisiana air.”

Wilson seemed like the perfect person for Alaina to sing “Thicc As Thieves” with. That’s because Wilson has recently generated a lot of attention for her “assets.”

Alaina co-wrote “Thicc As Thieves” with Rocky Block, Jacob Durrett, and Parker Welling. Luke Bryan and Dallas Davidson also have writing credits, because “Thicc As Thieves” samples Bryan’s hit song “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”

The inclusion of “Country Girl” in “Thicc As Thieves” is quite fitting. After all, “Country Girl” is another song about the same subject.

“Thicc As Thieves” samples the chorus of “Country Girl,” which goes, “Country girl, shake it for meGirl, shake it for me.”

What Did Luke Bryan Think Of “Country Girl” Being Used In “Thicc As Thieves?”

After hearing “Thicc As Thieves,” fans were curious to know what Bryan thinks about “Country Girl” being included in the song. He shared his thoughts during an interview at CMA Fest.

I love it. I was very flattered,” he said, according to Taste of Country. Alaina also told the outlet she asked for Bryan’s “blessing” to feature “Country Girl” in the song.

Bryan continued:

“My biggest thing is, this is a fun song for them. ‘Country Girl (Shake It for Me)’ was a fun song for me. It was a fun song for the country girls out there that were shaking it. And their song is a fun song for the girls that got a little somethin’ to shake.”

There’s no denying the fact that “Thicc As Thieves” is a fun song! Give it a listen below.
