Keith Urban Performs Stripped-Down Version Of “Blue Ain’t Your Color” On “The Voice” Finale

It is hard to believe that Season 24 of NBC’s The Voice has come to a close. The competitive singing show has given viewers a memorable season of surprises, steals, and saves, and fans were eager to find out who would be crowned winner and earn the title of “The Voice.” 

In addition to seeing their favorite contestants take the stage one last time, viewers were treated to a star-studded lineup of performers for the two-night season finale on Monday and Tuesday nights (Dec 18-19). Earth, Wind & Fire, Keith Urban, AJR, Jelly Roll, Tyla, and Dan + Shay were among the list of special musical guests for the evening.

Keith Urban was a coach on The Voice Australia

While this was country music superstar Keith Urban’s first time appearing on The Voice in the United States, he is no stranger to the show. In fact, he was a coach on the very first season of The Voice Australia in 2012. He later returned to the show to coach seasons 10 and 11 from 2021-2022.

Keith Urban’s coaching experience extends to other reality competition shows as well. He appeared as a judge on the hit show American Idol for seasons 12-15 from 2012-2016.

Keith Urban joined The Voice finale to perform his hit “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” Keith took the stage without his normal band and delivered a stripped down version of the ballad showcasing his vocals and electric guitar skills. 

“Blue Ain’t Your” Color was written by Steven Lee Olsen, Hillary Lindsey, and Clint Lagerberg. It was recorded and released by Keith Urban in 2016 as a part of his album Ripcord. The song went on to be a massive success, spending 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard Country charts, earning two Grammy award nominations, and winning the CMA award for Single of the Year in 2017.
