Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider took to social media to inform fans about a recent robbery at his home.
Schneider claims that the thief broke in and stole his late wife’s ashes, along with his wedding ring.
On July 14, John Schneider, known for his character Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard, posted a photo of an urn sitting on a countertop at his home. Along with the photo, Schneider wrote a lengthy caption, sharing the heartbreaking situation he found himself in.
“I am truly sorry because I never thought I would be forced to stoop this low,” Schneider wrote. “But this is one of the things that was stolen from me out of my house. Alicia’s ashes. Attached to it was a tiny urn with ashes… A silver cross with ‘Smile’ and ‘Alicia’ on it.”
“And my wedding ring for crying out loud,” he continues. “I wonder if they’re going to give away my wedding ring and cross anytime soon? Truly disgusted.”
A little while later, Schneider followed up on his initial post, clarifying to his followers what was happening.
“In case you’re wondering, and in case, I wasn’t clear enough … That is an urn. A very special urn that was missing the last time I went to the house. Also missing was my wedding ring, my cross and a little earn Alicia’s aunt gave me that I used to wear around my neck.”
Schneider’s wife, Alicia Allain, passed away on February 21, 2023, at the age of 53, after a four-year battle with breast cancer.
Allain was a producer, actress, and hairstylist. She and Schneider married in 2019, shortly after her initial cancer diagnosis. In addition to their romantic relationship, they were also creative partners, composing music and producing movies together.
Although Schneider does not specify when the robbery occurred or who was responsible for the theft of his personal belongings, he later posted that he seemed to have the situation under control, but says “the war isn’t completely over yet.”
“I want to personally thank everyone who took part in this campaign to stop these people from selling off my belongings. Pretty sure the war isn’t completely over yet… but we damn sure won this battle!”
