Miss Kay Is Doing Well
In an episode of the family’s podcast Unashamed, the Duck Dynasty family clarified confusion surrounding Miss Kay’s health.
Miss Kay, the matriarch of Duck Dynasty, was married to Phil Robertson for nearly their entire lives. Phil passed away in May 2025. While Miss Kay is grieving the loss of her lifelong partner, she is reportedly in much better physical health.
The podcast primarily featured discussions between Miss Kay and Phil’s two sons, Jase and Alan, addressing her current health and dispelling the rumors circulating about their family.
They stressed that she is well,
“She is doing amazing, by the way. She’s had a huge bounce back physically.”
Multiple reports confirmed that Miss Kay suffered a fall that led to a serious infection in 2024.
According to the brothers, the other health concerns had been exaggerated, something Jace referred to as fake news when he stated,
“Evidently out in what did Phil used to call the internet? Computer land. Computer land. There’s some false, fake news. There’s been a lot of fake news about mom.”
The family first learned about the online rumors about Miss Kay’s health after receiving texts from friends. Jase shared that “a lot of my friends have sent me texts… Sorry to hear about your mom… And I’m like, no, we just ate supper. She’s doing really good.”

Where Did These Rumors Begin?
They think the rumors may have originated from an interview their brother Willie gave to promote the new series Duck Dynasty: The Revival, which aired earlier this month. In that interview, he made a general remark about her health to a reporter, who is also a friend, stating that she wasn’t doing too well.
Since this interview, the reports have grown increasingly exaggerated.
Jase and Alan believe Miss Kay’s health is consistent with what you would expect for anyone nearly 80 years old, stating,
“He just made a general statement about her health. Which could define someone at almost 80. Most people, I mean, generally, let’s face it, you got some struggles once you get close to that number.”
They confirmed that she is indeed doing well, saying “she’s really thriving and doing fantastic.”
Furthermore, they mentioned that following her fall in 2024, she has been able to rehabilitate and walk up steps, a feat they initially doubted she could achieve again.
They remarked, “She’s been walking up the steps to my house. I mean, she’s doing things I didn’t know that she would do again. Well, compared to six months ago, she’s fantastic.”
