Top 14 Contestants On American Idol Revealed – Is Breanna Nix One Of Them?
American Idol fan-favorite Breanna Nix got the opportunity to showcase her powerful voice when she covered a Queen classic during the show’s April 21st episode.
The performance occurred just one day after Breanna delivered a breathtaking rendition of “Up to the Mountain” on Idol‘s “Songs of Faith” special on Easter Sunday (April 20). During that same episode, Breanna learned she had advanced into the Top 20.
Then, on Monday night’s live episode, the Top 20 was narrowed down to the Top 14. America’s votes saved ten contestants, while the Idol judges saved the remaining four.
Breanna appeared nervous as host Ryan Seacrest called her up to reveal her fate. Those nerves turned into pure relief, as Ryan revealed she’d been voted into the Top 14!
“I just feel so blessed,” Breanna said after speaking to Ryan later in the show. “The Nix nation, just in general, you guys have changed my life. ‘American Idol’ was kind of a joke for me when I started out. [I] didn’t think it would go anywhere, and here I am, right here, in the Top 14. God has just been so good to me.”
Breanna Nix Takes Command Of The Stage With Grand Performance Of “The Show Must Go On”
After learning she was a member of the Top 14, the stay-at-home mom from Denton, Texas, took to the stage to deliver a new performance. Breanna opted to cover “The Show Must Go On” by the legendary rock band Queen.
Singing “The Show Must Go On” is no easy feat. The song is dynamic, with powerful, long notes throughout. Anyone who dares to sing it must approach it with intensity. If they don’t, it won’t resonate.
In Breanna’s case, she rose to the occasion and handled the song like a pro. She soared through the most difficult notes while interacting with the crowd and taking command of the stage.
