Get Ready To Celebrate The Christmas Season With Cody Johnson
Christmas is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with some Christmas music?
After performing his fair share of Christmas songs in the past, Cody Johnson got his own Christmas special. The special, called A Cody Johnson Christmas, aired on CMT on Wednesday (December 13) at 9/8c.
“Cody Johnson and his family are bringing the Christmas spirit with a special night of music and memories!” CMT shared in an announcement made on December 1.

The CMT holiday special comes two years after Cody released his first Christmas album, also called A Cody Johnson Christmas. Tracks featured on the record include a cover of Merle Haggard‘s “If We Make It Through December,” a cover of Willie Nelson‘s “Pretty Paper,” and a personal version of “Silent Night” with his wife, Brandi, and their two daughters, Clara and Cori.
Brandi, Clara, and Cori all appeared on Cody’s CMT Christmas special too, making it extra special.

When Cody released his Christmas album in 2021, another song he included was his version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” Cody also performed the song during his televised Christmas special on CMT.
Wanting to give fans a little taste of what to expect on the special, CMT released a “sneak peek” video of Cody singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” the day before it aired (December 12). The video shows Cody performing in a white tux jacket and matching cowboy hat while surrounded by twinkling Christmas lights and festive decorations.
Before singing, Cody joked he was going to “class things up” for the performance.
“Very soothing! Well dressed man also!” commented one fan on CMT’s Facebook page.
Another person wrote, “Soooo good!!!!! The absolute best version of this song, I’ve ever heard.”
“Sounds great!!!! Makes me want to go to dinner with my family now even more,” said another fan.
One commenter added, “Classy the Texas way!!! Great. Job.”
