Clay Walker Cancels Show After Experiencing Side Effects From A Medical Procedure

On Saturday night, June 14, country star Clay Walker was scheduled to perform in Hot Springs, Arkansas, as part of his Drive Me Smooth tour.

But, before he could take the stage, he had to share the unfortunate news that he wouldn’t be able to perform due to side effects from a recent medical procedure.

He hasn’t shared specifics about the procedure so far.  He did clarify that it was related to his ongoing treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS), however.

The “Hypnotize the Moon” singer was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1996 at just 26 years old, right as his country music career was taking off.

Over the years, Walker has followed a treatment plan and focused on a healthy lifestyle to help manage the condition. Still, he’s experienced health scares along the way.

Walker shared a statement on his social media, explaining the situation to fans who planned to attend his show.

In his post, Walker said that he had hoped to push through and make it on stage, even though he wasn’t feeling his best. But by the morning of the concert, he made the tough call to cancel.

“Dear friends & country music fans, I recently had a procedure that could really help my MS… unfortunately I’ve got some side effects that have left me unable to perform tonight at Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs, Arkansas,” Walker began.

“I really tried my best to pull through for you all, which is why I waited until this morning to make this call,” he continued. “I look forward to returning to Arkansas soon, and I’m bummed to miss you all tonight. We will see everyone back out on the road soon!”

In the comments section of his post, fans flooded Walker with well wishes and prayers.

“Wishing you a fast recovery. We love you,” wrote a fan.

“Get well soon! Your health is more important!! Prayers that it helps,” said another.

“Get well soon. You’ve got this!” someone else commented.

As of now, there hasn’t been an official announcement on whether the show will be rescheduled.

Walker’s next scheduled performance is set for Tuesday, June 17, at the Grand Ole Opry.

Hopefully, he will be feeling well enough to return to the stage by then!
