Five rising stars were in the running to be named the ACM New Female Artist of the Year

Ashley Cooke, Hannah Ellis, Kassi Ashton, Kylie Morgan, and Megan Moroney all received New Female Artist of the Year nominations at this year’s ACM Awards. Hailey Whitters was honored with the title of New Female Artist of the Year in 2023.

Ashley Cooke is a graduate of Belmont University who won the Artists Showcase, an honor earned by Brad Paisley, Chris Young, and other country music alumni. She was a member of the 2023 Opry NextStage class, and her most recent single, “Your Place,” has made it all the way to the No. 8 spot on the US Country Airplay chart.

Hannah Ellis competed on NBC’s hit singing show, The Voice, in 2015. Afterward, she signed a publishing deal which led to her writing songs for Carly Pearce, Russell Dickerson, and more. She has now launched a solo country music career and was named one of Rolling Stone’s “Artists to Watch.”

Kassi Ashton is a Missouri native who blends rock, soul, and country sounds into her music. She made her Opry debut in March 2023 and has been applauded for her unapologetic storytelling. American Songwriter says, “Ashton brings powerful storytelling and a sense of poetry in every release.”

Kylie Morgan began touring and performing full-time at the age of 14. Since securing a recording contract with Universal Music Group Nashville, she has earned a spot in CMT’s Next Women of Country, VEVO’s DSCVR Artists to Watch, and CMA’s coveted KixStart program. She is set to tour with Old Dominion later this year.

Megan Moroney made a name for herself when her debut single, “Tennessee Orange,” went viral, ultimately becoming her first No. 1 song. In 2023, she won the CMT Music Award for Female Breakthrough Video of the Year. She is one of the most-nominated artists at this year’s ACM Awards, earning 5 total nods.
