What Is The CMA’s Musical Event Of The Year Award?
The nominees for the 2024 CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year were announced on September 9. They include:

The CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year is presented to the winning song’s artists and producer(s). The award is meant to honor an outstanding collaboration between two (or more) artists.
The Musical Event of the Year award was first presented in 1988 as the Vocal Event of the Year Award. Songs such as Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins’ “Hillbilly Bone,” Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss’ “Whiskey Lullaby,” and Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ “Does He Love You” won the category in the past.
Last year (2023) HARDY and Lainey Wilson took home the trophy for their chart-topping duet, “Wait in the Truck.”

In past years, the winners of Musical Event of the Year have been announced before the CMA Awards ceremony. This year’s winners were announced live on the red carpet.

“You Look Like You Love Me” was one of the most popular country songs to debut this year. Ella Langley released it in August as a single from her debut studio album, Hungover. The song features her friend and frequent collaborator, Riley Green.
So far, the song has reached the 7th spot on the Country Airplay chart and the 8th spot on the Hot Country Songs chart. It also crossed over to claim the 30th spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.
Additionally, the song’s official music video has over 12 million views on YouTube since it debuted on August 28. Watch it below.
