Yellowstone made its CBS debut on Sunday, September 17…and now, the ratings are in.

Yellowstone Moves To CBS…For Now

Back in May, Paramount Network officially announced that Season 5 of Yellowstone would mark the final chapter of the series. The conclusion will come after the culmination of Season 5. At the time, Paramount said that the second part of Season 5 would likely be dropping in November. But, this was before the Writer’s Guild of America began striking, followed shortly by the Screen Actor’s Guild strike.

Because of the historic strike, Yellowstone – as well as countless other scripted shows – has not begun filming. And due to no new scripted programming this fall, CBS announced that it will air Yellowstone from the very beginning. Previously, the show has been exclusive to Paramount Network, with reruns being available on Peacock.

Back in 2018, when the series premiered on Paramount Network, 2.8 million people tuned in. On Sunday, 6.56 million people watched the Yellowstone premiere on CBS, which marks a 132% increase in viewers for this particular episode. CBS estimates the number will rise to 6.82million once out-of-home viewers are accounted for. According to Deadline, it is “the largest audience for a scripted series on the broadcast networks since the season finale of NCIS in late May.”

It seems Yellowstone fans are really missing the show! Tune in every Sunday at 9pm/8pm central to get your Yellowstone fix!
