At the time, a Season 5 had yet to be officially announced, so Yellowstone fans had high hopes for another season. Another clue that the modern day Western would be returning was when producer David Glasser told Variety, “It’s the prime of the show. I think the show is still maturing, and there’s still a lot of story to tell. I know with Taylor, he’s got a lot to say and a lot to write. He’s deep into Season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ now. He’s got some incredible ideas that he shared that I think audiences are going to be really excited about.”
Variety also reported that Glasser “expects production to resume…in May, with Season 5 likely to air in the fall.”
On February 3, it was officially announced that Yellowstone was renewed for Season 5! The show made the announcement with a press release and social media posts.
On Instagram, they shared a video of a cookie artist making a special Yellowstone cookie and wrote, “We’ve got some super sweet news: #YellowstoneTV season 5 is a go. See you back at the ranch!”

Kevin Costner leads our incredible cast who make the Duttons America’s favorite family, and this new season is sure to be another one fans won’t want to miss.”
The renewal comes on the heels of Yellowstone being nominated for numerous awards, including a SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
