McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill, kept tradition in 2023 by celebrating Christmas with an Italian dinner and karaoke alongside their three daughters.

McGraw and Faith Hill eagerly anticipated a reunion with their daughters for the holiday season, who had all left the family residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Residing in their expansive 22,460-square-foot mansion, featuring five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, the country music duo has been on their own since their youngest daughter, Audrey, 21, moved to New York City in 2021. Their eldest daughter, Gracie, 26, also calls the Big Apple home, while their middle child Maggie, 25, resides elsewhere following her studies at Stanford University.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have a busy household during the holidays

“Holidays are busy, especially with all the girls at home because they’ve created this theme night thing that we do,” he told Audacy’s Katie & Company. “It’s based on TV shows or movies, or books sometimes, and they’ll pick a theme, and then we’ll have a dinner – the food has to fit the theme as well,” McGraw explained.

This time around, music played a significant role: Karaoke night, which was simply a chance for the family to be playful and celebrate Christmas together.

McGraw’s daughter Gracie captured a video showcasing him and another family member belting out a karaoke rendition of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” with additional party guests joining in the festive dancing.

Acknowledging their extensive repertoire of hit songs, Tim McGraw confessed that none of his or Faith’s tracks actually make an appearance during their karaoke sessions.

“I have to listen to my daughters do two hours of Hamilton,” he said. “They know every single word, they love it. They’re all great singers and they can do all the harmonies, so they do every song of Hamilton.”

Funnily enough, Gracie’s dog Baz emerged as the unexpected star of the show. In a memorable moment, he leaped up and playfully interrupted two dancers, prompting the entire room to erupt in laughter.

Gracie’s holiday recap also featured a snapshot of her sisters, Audrey and Maggie, who joined their country superstar parents for the festive celebration.

Keeping their traditions alive

The holiday schedule for the musical family is not just centered around themed dinners and karaoke festivities. They also savor the tradition of indulging in Italian feasts.

“I always cook – my mom’s Italian so I grew up having pasta for Christmas Eve dinner,” McGraw shared. “I make spaghetti and meatballs every New Year’s Eve and we usually have it around noon or 1 pm [with] all the family that we have that lives in our area, we usually have 20 or 30 people, and then we play games afterward and we always have karaoke set up.”

On his Instagram account, McGraw provided evidence that the spaghetti and meatball tradition continues to thrive in his household. He shared a photo showcasing an oven range filled with platters of meatballs.

“Gettin started!” the singer wrote in the caption of that post. He then shared an “after” shot featuring the remaining meatballs after the family’s meal. McGraw added, “We made a dent!”

“That’s sort of my job as dad to prepare the spaghetti and meatballs. That’s a tradition that I’ve had since I was a child; I hope it carries on with [my daughters],” the singer revealed in an interview leading up to his appearance on CMA Country Christmas in 2020.
