Reigning Voice champion coach Niall Horan was forced to miss part of the episode this week, and he had two people fill in for him.

In a social media video posted to his accounts on Tuesday (Nov. 8), Niall Horan announced that he would be missing a crucial part of The Voice this week.

“So I won’t be here for the knockout rehearsals this year,” he says to the camera. “I’m on a bit of a festival run. I’m all over the world, all over the place this year. But, I thought that it would take more than one person to fill these shoes around here, so I called up my good friends Dan + Shay, who are gonna be here on Season 25 anyway!”

He explained that the award-winning country dup will be “helping coach my team through the knockouts,” he he would be back in time for the actual Knockout Rounds. He ended the video saying, “Three coaches are better than one!”

Dan + Shay step in one season early.

Dan + Shay were ready for the call when Horan needed them! The Irish singer even Facetimed them and told them exactly what he wanted to say to his team.

We hope Dan + Shay got ready, because next year they will have to do this full time. It seems Horan was pleased with the coaching Dan +Shay did because his team’s performances were incredible!
