The Vocal Duo Winner Has Been Released

The CMA Awards are back with another year of incredible performances and new award winners who will join the ranks of the country’s best.

Brothers Osborne was the Vocal Duo winner of 2023. This win marked their sixth time winning this award. Their streak started in 2016, and they have won nearly every year since then. The duo only lost in 2019 and 2020 to Dan + Shay.

Brooks & Dunn

Brooks & Dunn has been dominant in the Vocal Duo of the Year category at the CMA Awards. The duo, consisting of Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks, has won this award an impressive 14 times. Their winning streak began in 1992 and continued until 2006, when they only lost once, in 2000.

This year, the duo has been working on an album titled Reboot II, featuring their biggest hits. They have collaborated with some of the most popular artists in the country music scene, including Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, and Megan Moroney, to bring new life to their fan favorites.

The War and Treaty

The War and Treaty is a married couple, Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter. They released their first EP, Down to the River, in 2017. Although they have not won any CMA Awards, they were nominated in this category last year (2023).

The duo performed their hit “Cold” at the 57th CMAs. Watch below.

Dan + Shay

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, more famously known as Dan + Shay, have been nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year at the CMA Awards ten times. They have won the award twice in 2019 and 2020, breaking up the Brothers Osborne’s impressive streak.

Recently, Dan + Shay has been releasing remakes of beloved Christmas music. Watch their rendition of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” below.

Maddie & Tae

Maddie & Tae have been nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year for the tenth time at the 2024 CMA Awards. The duo, comprised of Madison Font and Taylor Kerr, has yet to win this award.

However, they did win the Country Music Association Award for Video of the Year in 2015.
