Wild Video Shows NASCAR’s Tyler Reddick’s Car Flipping Following Wreck In Las Vegas
NASCAR’s Tyler Reddick is thankfully alright after flipping his car during a scary-looking wreck on Sunday (October 20).
Reddick, who is the regular season champion, continued his winning streak in Las Vegas. He claimed a victory in the first stage of the opening race of the NASCAR semifinals.
But things went wrong during the second stage. Shortly after the race started, Reddick was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck that ended in him flipping his car.
Fortunately, Reddick emerged from the wreck unscathed. A comment NASCAR left on a YouTube video of the crash states, “he got out under his own power and was cleared and released from the infield care center.”
However, he was unable to continue the race and finished in 35th place.
Reddick Explains What Happened In The Leadup To The Wreck
Reddick spoke with ESPN to explain what happened on the track in the leadup to his wreck. He said:
“You’ve just got to be aggressive on restarts; I just had a split second to make a decision. By the time I realized I was in trouble, it was too late. There was nowhere really to go. Be a little conservative—that’s what we needed to do. We’ll learn from it.“
ESPN also reports that after the wreck, Reddick hopped on his radio and said, “I thought the hole was there; it wasn’t. It closed so quickly.”
