During Sunday night’s episode of American Idol, the Top 5 contestants competed for their spot in the Top 3 of the competition.
The remaining contenders of Season 22— Jack Blocker, Abi Carter, Will Moseley, Emmy Russell, and Triston Harper— all graced the stage, aiming to secure their spot in the season finale. Country star Kane Brown joined as a mentor for the Top 5, guiding them through Disney night, where each contestant performed two songs.
As the episode draws to a close, viewers across America can cast their votes, leading to the elimination of two contestants and the announcement of the official Top 3.
One of the standout performances during the episode came from Triston Harper, the youngest contestant of the season and a rising star in the country music scene. At just 15 years old, Harper wowed the audience with his rendition of “Almost There” from the 2009 Disney film Princess and the Frog, marking one of two performances for the night.

After escaping an abusive relationship, the mother-son duo found themselves homeless, far from their home state of Alabama. Did Triston Harper make it to the Top 3?
Fans voting was open throughout Sunday night’s two-hour episode and the Top 3 were announced after the final commercial break. The lucky trio advancing to next week’s finale will be honored this week with hometown visits. Unfortunately, Triston Harper and Emmy Russell didn’t advance to the finale, meaning that Abi Carter, Will Mosely and Jack Blocker will vie for the title next Sunday, May 19.
