“Heaven Ushered In A Hero Of The Faith” – Tim Tebow’s Beloved Father, Bob, Has Died
Tim Tebow’s father, Robert “Bob” Ramsey Tebow II, has passed away.
Tim shared the heartbreaking news about his father’s death on Friday, April 24. He said that Bob passed away the previous night (on April 23).
“Heaven ushered in a hero of the faith last night as my Dad was welcomed home!” Tim wrote in a post he shared on social media.
The former NFL star and devoted Christian added, “Many will say sorry for your loss but the truth is he’s not lost, we know exactly where he is. He’s home. Forever!”

The official website for Bob’s foundation, The Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association, details how he and Tim’s mother, Pam, fell in love while attending the University of Florida. Then, in 1985, they moved to the Philippines “with a vision to share the Gospel with every man, woman, and child.”
Tim was born in the Philippines, and he eventually attended his parents’ alma mater, UF, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 2007.
Bob shared in 2016 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. However, he vowed not to let the diagnosis keep him from carrying out his mission work.
“I’m not going to retire from the Great Commission to spread the gospel,” he told PEOPLE at the time. “I may be slower, and I may shake on the way, but I still have work to do.”
Tim Tebow said shortly before his father died, he asked him what he looked forward to the most about going to heaven. Bob simply replied, “Jesus.”
Tim ended his powerful tribute to his father by writing:
“He couldn’t wait to see Jesus face to face. Praise God that his wait is over. Death has been swallowed up in victory. He’s healed and whole now. So we don’t mourn as those with no hope. See you soon Dad!“
The post included a full slideshow of photos showing Tim and his dad through the years. See those pictures and Tim’s tribute below.
Tim’s Wife, Demi-Leigh, Honors Her Late Father-In-Law
After Tim Tebow’s father passed away, his wife, Demi-Leigh, also shared a moving tribute.
Demi-Leigh expressed how grateful she was to have Bob as her father-in-law, writing:
“I am grateful for the man who raised the love of my life. The man who shaped him to be strong yet humble, courageous yet kind, bold yet deeply compassionate… a protector, a leader, and above all, a man who loves God and loves people well.“
Demi-Leigh said she knows “heaven is rejoicing” with Bob in “his forever home.” However, she admitted that “on this side of heaven, the emptiness is real, and it is heavy.”
She posted a slideshow featuring several photos of the beautiful memories they made together. See that post below.
Sadly, Demi-Leigh lost her own father, Bennie Peters, six months ago, on October 16, 2025. He passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer, just three months after Tim and Demi-Leigh welcomed their daughter, Daphne.
“The angels are in for a treat, because the man with the best dad jokes, the biggest heart, and the funniest pranks has arrived,” Demi-Leigh said about Bennie after his death.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim and Demi-Leigh following both of their fathers’ deaths. May Bob and Bennie rest in peace…
