Thomas Rhett & His Family Mourn The Death Of Their Beloved Dogs, Kona & Cash
Following the death of their two beloved dogs, Kona and Cash, Thomas Rhett and his sweet family have welcomed two new adorable puppies!
Last month (November) was a “tough” month for the family, Thomas explained.
The “Marry Me” singer shared on his Instagram on November 26 that they lost Kona. The news came just a few weeks after they lost Cash.
“It’s been a tough dog month for our family. We lost our little Kona girl. I think after cash passed she just wanted to go be with him,” Thomas wrote at the time.
The singer recalled just how much the dogs have become part of their family, and how deeply they will be missed.
“It’s weird losing a dog, cause whether you know it or not they are just always there, always by your side at the dinner table. They are truly a part of your family,” Thomas said.
Baby Number 5 Is Set To Arrive In Just A Few Months
This past summer, country star Thomas Rhett and his wife of nearly 13 years, Lauren Akins, announced she is pregnant with their fifth child!
The couple already share four daughters, Willa Gray (9), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5), and Lillie Carolina (3) together.
The Rhett’s shared they are doing things a little different for this fifth baby. In September, Thomas and Lauren said they are waiting until birth to reveal the gender!
“Due date is in March and we are going to wait until the day of, man, to figure out what the gender is,” Rhett told Taste of Country Nights.
The singer said this is the first time the couple will be waiting until the baby is here to find out.
“It’s terrifying for me, but there’s not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that’s one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to.”
The Rhett’s Welcome Two New Furry Additions
On Saturday (December 27), Thomas and Lauren shared the joyful news alongside a sweet carousel of photos, detailing how their two new puppies became part of the family.
“Grateful for our growing family and our 2 new puppies! Nero joined our family in September and he got to know and live with Kona and Cash for a little while before they went to heaven,” the couple wrote.
“Santa brought us (not so) little Moose💚❤️ our family is chaotic and loud most moments of the day and our hearts are so full and Lauren’s ankles are so swollen-almost ready for baby number 5 to be here 💕🩵💕,” they continued.
Thomas and Lauren also posted sweet photos of their four girls and cherished memories from the season, reminding fans why they’re one of the most adored families in country music.
