Bryce Leatherwood made his way into the Top 13 on Season 22 of The Voice after winning the Instant Save the week before. His advancement allowed Team Blake to stay completely intact moving into the Top 13. Other members of Team Blake who moved on to the Top 13 were Bodie, Rowan Grace, and Brayden Lape.
After nearly being eliminated the previous week, Leatherwood knew the pressure was on. He decided to stay true to his brand and kept things country for his performance…which was a cover of George Strait‘s iconic song “Amarillo by Morning.”
Leatherwood received some glowing comments from his coach Blake Shelton after he finished singing. Shelton said:
“This might be the first time I’ve ever felt like a stage mom. I love George Strait, and I love Bryce. The position you were in last week — who knows how it happens, but that’s how you fix it!”
He also earned a nice compliment from John Legend, who said, “It just sounded so perfect and so natural. You look like a star up there.“
Voice viewers agreed with Shelton and Legend. People commenting on the video of Leatherwood’s performance on YouTube said:
