Past ‘Survivor’ Contestants And Others Offer Condolences
With Season 50 of the hit CBS reality gameshow Survivor still underway, longtime host Jeff Probst, 64, has much to be thankful for.
However, on May 11, it was announced that his family is facing tragedy.
Jeff’s younger brother, Scott Probst, 58, has died.
As of May 12, Jeff has not yet made a public statement about his brother’s passing, and the news of Scott’s death was shared by their other brother, Brent. A cause of death has not been revealed.
“Some sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us,” wrote Brent. “He was a great brother, son and friend. I will miss him so much.”
Brent concluded his post, writing simply, “I’m so sad he is gone.”
According to his IMDb, Scott was sporadically on the crew of Survivor, working in the art department, working on props, and serving in the camera crew.
Scott was also production coordinator on the 2003 WWII video game Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, and was a producer of the 2005 WWII video game Medal of Honor: European Assault.

In the comments, several past Survivor contestants expressed their sympathy, including Jeremy “Rome” Cooney, of Season 47, who wrote, “So sorry for your loss.”
Teeny Chirichillo, also of Season 47, wrote, “Thinking of you and your family. I’m so sorry.”
Adam Klein, of Season 33 and Season 40, wrote, “I am so terribly sorry Brent. Sending love to you and your whole family.”
One of the producers of Survivor, Kyle Grossinger, wrote of Scott, “So sorry. He was a great friend and will be missed.”
