Aerosmith Reschedules Multiple Concerts After Lead Singer Steven Tyler Suffers Vocal Chord Damage

The rock band Aerosmith has been forced to postpone several of their concerts due to lead singer Steven Tyler‘s health. Tyler shared a short statement on the band’s social media pages addressing the situation.

In the statement, Tyler revealed he’s “received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days.” He went on to explain the reason behind the vocal rest:

I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”

Aerosmith Previously Announced This Would Be Their Farewell Tour

Back in May, Aerosmith announced their plans to embark on their final tour. After 50 years of touring, they felt it was time to say “farewell” to life on the road.

PEACE OUT! After 50 years, 10 world tours, and playing for over 100 million fans… It’s time for one last go!” the band said.

The tour just started on September 2 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their last show was originally scheduled for January 26, 2024 in Montreal, Quebec at the Bell Centre. But now with the postponements factored in, their tour will extend a bit further into 2024.
