The Induction Ceremony
During his Opry induction ceremony, Scotty showcased his musical prowess by performing “Cab In A Solo” and “Fall Of Summer” from his upcoming album, Rise and Fall. He also delivered a heartfelt rendition of Randy Travis’ “Three Wooden Crosses.”
Then, renowned country artists and Opry members Randy Travis and Josh Turner joined him on stage. They not only praised Scotty’s talent but also emphasized his potential to inspire future artists, bridging the generational gap within the genre.
“Scotty is not only a fine singer and a songwriter but he’s a great man, husband, and now father. I’m proud of him and I’m proud that he is filling the shoes of the artists before him. With artists like him, country music is in great shape,” Turner expressed.
Scotty actually auditioned for American Idol in 2011 with Turner’s iconic “Your Man.”
After delivering a heartfelt performance of his hit song “Five More Minutes,” Scotty received his official Opry Member Award.
This emotional moment came full circle as he openly shared that becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry had been a lifelong dream of his.
“If you’ve listened to any of my interviews from the last thirteen years of doing this, they’d say, ‘What’s your biggest goal?’ and I’d always say, ‘One day, I wanna be a member of the Grand Ole Opry,’” shared Scotty. “I gotta go home and start writing a new bucket list.”
While directing his attention to his 18-month-old son Avery in the audience, Scotty expressed, “He might not understand tonight, but one day I’ll tell him, ‘Hey buddy, this was your daddy’s dream, and it came true.’”
Scotty McCreery’s induction into the Opry occurred a mere thirteen days after he secured the Digital-First Performance of the Year award at the 2024 CMT Music Awards.
Future Plans
Scotty McCreery will return to the Opry for a performance on May 11, 2024, just one day after the release of his new album, Rise and Fall.
According to American Songwriter, the first 400 ticket holders who purchase the album at the Opry Shop during the event will get a special surprise. Each individual will gain access to an exclusive album release celebration and acoustic performance with Scotty.
