Earlier This Year, Sadie Robertson’s 8-Month-Old Daughter Had A Terrifying Choking Incident
The Duck Dynasty star recalled the scary moment in a post she shared on social media last month.
According to Sadie, her 8-month-old daughter, Kit, was in her high chair eating a snack when she began to choke. She said things escalated very quickly, and within seconds, she stopped breathing.
“Everyone went into action and into prayer. Mom called 911, I started CPR, and everyone began to pray out loud and move the other kids downstairs,” Sadie wrote.
Thankfully, her CPR efforts were successful, and Kit “miraculously coughed and began to breathe” again.
Shortly after, paramedics arrived, and an ambulance took Kit to the hospital, where she stayed overnight for observation so doctors could make sure everything was okay.
Not long after, Sadie confirmed that her daughter was “perfectly healthy, happy, and brightening everyone’s day.”
Sadie Reveals Baby Kit Had Another Choking Scare
Just weeks after the traumatic incident, Sadie revealed that her daughter choked for the second time.
In a video posted on Friday, May 8, she detailed what her family has been going through and shared that doctors began looking deeper into possible reasons for why it kept happening.
“A month since Kit choked, and what we thought was a one-time event, happened again shortly after… and that was the beginning of discovering something underlying,” Sadie wrote.
The 28-year-old didn’t specify what Kit’s diagnosis was, but she did reassure her followers that the issue was not something overly serious.
“Praise the Lord that for such a scary and life-threatening event we had, it was a relatively small fix, because of the incredible doctors, and she is healing now,” Sadie continued. “God really does establish STRENGTH in the mouth of infants”
In the video, Sadie is seen holding her baby while they are in the hospital. She sings Elevation Worship’s song “Always on Time” as Kit sleeps peacefully in her arms, wrapped in a pink and white blanket with a pacifier in her mouth.
“The words to this song couldn’t testify more to this month,” she continued. “I sang them over and over, and recorded them one day in the hospital to look back on! God is faithful, He is good, He is an ever-present help in times of trouble, He is a provider and protector. And the church is a wonderful place that displays His love in times like this”
