Robert Irwin and girlfriend Rorie Buckey have broken up
Robert Irwin (20), son of the “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, announced on Friday (Feb 16) that he and his girlfriend Rorie Buckey (19) have decided to go their separate ways. The pair each shared a message to their respective Instagram stories that read:
“We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future.”
“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths.”
The former couple added that they would not be commenting further on the matter and thanked followers for respecting their privacy.
Robert and Rorie have been linked since 2022
The young couple were first seen together in late 2022, but went public with their relationship in July 2023 when they attended the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One together in Sydney, Australia. Rorie is the niece of late-actor Heath Ledger.
Since then, they have freely shared of their adventures online, posting photos and videos from their travels and fun memories together. Most, if not all, of these posts have now been removed.
Robert’s older sister Bindi posted a group photo last fall and in the caption included:
“My brother’s gorgeous girlfriend, @roriebuckey – Sweetest soul, beautiful friend, I love her dearly and you’ll usually see Grace just following her around because she adores her.”

After announcing the split, Robert posted a beautiful family photo captioned, “grateful for you all,” undoubtedly alluding to their support during this hard time.
