It’s been over half a year since Robert Irwin, the 22-year-old wildlife conservationist, first Paso Dobled his way into the hearts of viewers of Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, which he ultimately won.
Now, reports indicate that the son of the late Steve Irwin may have waltzed his way into a romance, and with someone who shares his passion for nature and photography.
Citing an anonymous “exclusive source,” Us Weekly reports that Robert is dating a 24-year-old wildlife photographer, named Ashleigh Scully.

Back in February of 2024, Robert Irwin and his ex-girlfriend, Rorie Buckey, announced they had ended their relationship.
While Robert is believed to have known Ashleigh Scully for many years, possibly even as far back as 2019, as noted by Us Weekly, rumors of Ashleigh and Robert being an item were not a thing until they were spotted together in March of this year.
In a photo received by TMZ, which can be seen here, Robert and Ashleigh were spotted getting out of the same car as Robert arrived at the studio for the new show he’ll be hosting this summer, Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro.
According to her website, Ashleigh, who is from Wyoming, has been a nature photographer since she was eight years old.
Viewers of the Animal Planet reality series Crikey! It’s The Irwins will recall that Robert’s passion for nature and wildlife photography became a significant part of his time on the show, with photography becoming part of his continuation of his late father’s work at Australia Zoo.
Beyond photography, Ashleigh’s website notes that she has considerable experience with animals, with Ashleigh writing, “When I was sixteen I was recruited to be on Texas Christian University’s Division 1 Equestrian team, where I competed for five years. I was a 5x All-American and finished with a Bachelor and Master of Arts in literature.”
Notably, she said that her graduate thesis at TCU was on “the nineteenth century oil and whaling empire,” a theme that intellectually unites Ashleigh and Robert.
While Ashleigh has her personal Instagram account set to private, her photography account is regularly updated, and her most recent post, from June 15, was liked by Robert.
Neither Robert or Ashleigh have publicly expressed they’re dating, but they were seen diving together with Dancing with the Stars‘ Dylan Efron in February of this year.

Robert Irwin will be hosting the new reality game show Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, which will air on ABC and stream on Hulu beginning on July 13.
