Before performing her 2014 hit “God Made Girls,” which she released as part of her EP that year, titled Me EP, RaeLynn spoke on what the song means to her since becoming a mom.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I don’t know why in my mind I thought that I was having a boy,” she stated. “I just always was like, ‘I’m gonna be a boy mom. Hell yeah.'”

RaeLynn, who was a contestant on Blake Shelton’s team on Season 2 of The Voice in 2012, became a mom in 2021, giving birth to Daisy that fall.

Continuing, RaeLynn said, “I’ve sang ‘God Made Girls’ every night since I was 19 years old on tour, and God was like, ‘You know what I’m going to bless you with? A wild little girl that is just like you.'”

Before singing the song, RaeLynn added that her daughter “truly is the light of my life.”

Partway through the song, Daisy was brought up onstage to join her. Pulled up to her mom’s lap, Daisy quickly finds the microphone and starts helping out with the song.

Adorably, taking after her mom, Daisy can be seen repeatedly pulling the microphone back to herself to give “God Made Girls” her best shot.
