Photo Surfaces Of Chris Stapleton When He Was In High School

It’s always fun to see photos of country stars before they were famous. People are always amazed when they see photos and videos of Chris Stapleton when he was younger, because he didn’t sport the long hair and beard he’s known for today.

Chris’ wife, Morgane, has shared a few photos of him when he was younger…including one photo of him as a kid.

More recently, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum posted a photo of Chris when he was in high school. The photo shows a teenage Chris wearing his football uniform for the Johnson Central Golden Eagles.

As the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum detailed in the picture’s caption:

While growing up in eastern Kentucky, Chris Stapleton began playing guitar when he was about twelve years old, but he did not focus on music until college. Instead, he participated in several school activities, including football…Stapleton stuck with the sport. During his senior season (1995), the Johnson Central Golden Eagles made the playoffs for the first time in school history.”

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum shared the snapshot to promote its exhibit about Chris, called “Chris Stapleton: Since 1978.” The exhibit includes many artifacts from Chris’ life and career, including his high school football helmet and practice jersey.

See the photo of a teenage Chris Stapleton below. It’s so cool to see who country singers were before they became stars!
