Oliver Anthony Music and his wife, Tiffany, have welcomed a new son!
Oliver Anthony, whose real name is Christopher Lunsford, shared the news of the baby’s arrival on social media Wednesday morning (Oct. 18) with a photo of the newborn and a caption that simply read, “Mission success.”
The “Rich Men North of Richmond” singer shared that his wife was in the hospital and the baby was on the way one day prior. In a post made to Instagram he wrote, “The baby boy may be making an appearance today. Have been at the hospital since 12am. Will keep y’all updated!” alongside two photos of himself waiting for the baby’s arrival.
Oliver Anthony hasn’t given any further details about his new son. His wife shared on Facebook one week ago that he was due around October 24, indicating that the baby came a little earlier than expected. And photos of Tiffany’s baby shower indicate that the baby’s name is Amos.
According to the New York Post, Oliver Anthony has two other children, but he has yet to post photos of the rest of his family, likely to protect them from the onslaught of media attention and curiosity surrounding them.
Oliver Anthony Music burst onto the country music scene in early August after the release of his video “Rich Men North of Richmond.”
In the days that followed, the singer uploaded “Rich Men North Of Richmond” to streaming services along with some of his other self-penned tunes. The result was an almost immediate and unprecedented takeover of the streaming charts.
The previously unknown singer from rural Virginia was suddenly thrust into the spotlight and became one of the biggest artists to hit the music industry in years. “Rich Men North of Richmond” and Oliver Anthony made history by debuting atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart as the only artist to ever do so with no previous chart history. He dethroned Morgan Wallen and beat out the likes of Luke Combs and Taylor Swift for the top spot two weeks running.
To date, “Rich Men North Of Richmond” has garnered nearly 100 million streams on Spotify alone, and more than 83 million views on YouTube.
