Morgan Wallen turned Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium into an absolute country music hotspot on Friday (September 20).
Morgan Wallen kicked off the first of two packed shows at the enormous stadium by walking onto the stage with some special guests: the College World Series champion Tennessee Volunteers baseball team and their coach, Tony Vitello.

A true-blue Tennessee Volunteers supporter, Morgan Wallen’s roots run deep in the local sports scene. A proud graduate of Gibbs High School, he once played on the school’s baseball team. Showing his local pride, Wallen sported a Tennessee Vols hat for the whole show. He took it up a notch during the encore, switching to a Vols jersey.
Addressing his hometown crowd, Wallen shared:
“I really appreciate that warm welcome, that means a lot to me. The last time I was in this stadium, I was watching Tennessee kick Alabama’s a**. I can’t think of a better way to follow it up than to be here playing two sold-out shows this weekend. This is one of the most special days of my entire life, and I’m very glad you guys chose to spend this weekend here with me – it means a lot.”
According to Knox News, Morgan Wallen is only the fourth headlining artist to play the Neyland Stadium stage.

With nearly 80,000 fans in attendance, Wallen kept the crowd going with a variety of his hit songs. But the real surprise came when country star Eric Church joined him on stage. They sang “Quittin’ Time” together, a song Church wrote for Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album.
The two have also collaborated on their hit duet, “Man Made A Bar,” which is featured on Wallen’s latest album, One Thing At A Time.
But Wallen and Church’s partnership goes beyond music. The two artists recently bought the well-known Field & Stream outdoors brand. The Field & Stream team was actually positioned outside Gate 4 at Neyland Stadium before the concert to hand out exclusive merch to fans.

Wallen shared with the audience, “I have been very fortunate to do a lot of great things over the last few years, but I know that this right here is going to be extremely hard to top as one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten to do.”
