For the last eight months, 19-year-old Isabella Strahan has been fighting brain cancer.
She was diagnosed with a large medulloblastoma, a malignant tumor, in her cerebellum. The cerebellum is a portion of the brain in the back, nearly at the brain’s stem.
Isabella has been documenting her health journey on her YouTube channel since her October 2023 diagnosis, and her latest video is the greatest news.
Isabella is officially cancer-free! In her vlog titled “Goodbye Hospital!!!” Isabella returned to have her chemotherapy port surgically removed. She also had an MRI and a doctor’s appointment the next day to review everything.
Isabella had finished up chemotherapy on June 16 and celebrated the end of radiation in January. After six weeks of radiation, four rounds of chemotherapy, and three brain surgeries, she was was waiting for the time to come where should could announce that her cancer was gone.
When she received the news that she is cancer free, she was obviously ecstatic!
“It was a great, great scan,” she said in the car after the appointment. “Everything was clear. Cancer-free and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.”
She said she already missed the doctors and nurses at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, North Carolina already.
“That was my last hospital vlog until October!” she said excitedly.
Isabella’s cancer journey has been documented on her YouTube channel, but the nation became connected to her story because of her dad, former NFL player and current Good Morning America host Michael Strahan.
