LeAnn Rimes Had A Dental Emergency But Handled It With Humor

LeAnn Rimes took to her social media account with over 1.1 million followers to tell a funny story from her onstage tooth mishap. She started by saying,

“Okay, we’re going to do a little story time about how the show must go on. And this is the most epic example of how the show must go on.”

With a good attitude, she laughed off what could have been an embarrassing moment. During one of her recent performances, she felt a pop in her mouth and stopped mid-song. She was singing her 1996 hit, “One Way Ticket.”

When she got to the side stage, she realized her teeth had fallen out!

In her own words, she said,

“I feel something pop in my mouth. And if you’ve been around, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries. And I have a bridge in the front. And it fell out in the middle of my song last night. To which I panicked and, in the middle, said ‘hold on’ and ran to the side of the stage and put it back in, like popped it back in, and then just went on singing. And then I just had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening, or else I would have had to walk off stage.”

She Laughed About The Ordeal And Encouraged Her Fans Not To Get Embarrassed

In the same video, she noted that losing a tooth on stage is not ideal, but she also said it was “epic.”

“It was the most epic experience ever, I don’t usually have firsts in my career; um, that was a first, and hopefully a last.”

She even laughed about how difficult it was to sing her songs with no front teeth.

“Which, by the way, I never knew how many F’s and Th’s and Sh’s and that I have in my songs!”

Rimes also encouraged her fans not to be embarrassed when performing because, as she said, “the show can go on.”

“In case you know anybody has an issue on stage ever and feels embarrassed by it, um, this just watch this video again and it’ll remind you that the show can go on even in the midst of sheer utter embarrassment. You just gotta be real with people. It’s all good.

On Sunday (June 22), the same day she posted the video, she performed at Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom in Bow, Wash., and also posted a video of herself singing a Miley Cyrus cover. Watch below!

@leannrimes this song is so fun to sing, even when you’re bridge (🦷) is hanging on for dear life… nothing more to lose, when you’ve already lost your teeth and dignity on stage 😂 #moretolose #miley #backstagesessions @Miley Cyrus ♬ More to Lose – Miley Cyrus
