Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” Is One Of The Most Iconic Holiday Songs In History

Brenda Lee was only 13 years old when she recorded a song that has since gone on to become a Christmas classic. Of course, they song we’re referencing is none other than “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

Written solely by Johnny Marks, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was released by Lee in 1958. Surprisingly, the song wasn’t a success upon its initial release.

The song didn’t become popular until 1960, since Lee was a bigger star by then. That year, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” peaked at the 14th spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
