Jimmy Buffett’s son, Cameron, is the latest to pay tribute to the late singer with a heartfelt statement.
Jimmy Buffett died September 1 at the age of 76, and an outpouring of tributes followed from fans and friends worldwide. But, the most beautiful words honoring the singer have come from his family.
Buffett’s sisters, Laurie and Lucy, each shared memories of their late brother and detailed the last moments they spent with him. Jimmy’s wife, Jane, and daughter, Delaney, also issued statements confirming to fans that there was no difference between the singer they saw on stage and the man he was at home with his family.

Jimmy’s 29-year-old son Cameron, whom he adopted with Jane, is the latest to pay tribute to the “Margaritaville” singer with a post made to social media.
In a short but sweet statement, Cameron reiterated comments made by his family, saying, “My dad lived the happiest, most fulfilling life anyone could. We had an amazing relationship and I miss him so much. He had an amazing gift of being able to see the positive in everything, and I will try to do the same, for him.”

Cameron is one of the Jimmy and Jane’s three children, alongside Savannah Buffett and Sarah “Delaney” Buffett. In a post shared to Instagram, Delaney wrote of her dad:
“I knew my dad my whole life but in his final days, I saw who he was: a man whose spirit could not be broken. Despite the pain, he smiled everyday. He was kind when he had every excuse not to be. He told us not to be sad or scared, but to keep the party going,” she wrote.
Jimmy Buffett died after a four-year cancer battle.
Jimmy Buffett was diagnosed with Merkel Cell Skin Cancer in 2019 and “fought bravely and gave it everything he had,” according to his sister.
News of Jimmy’s death was announced on social media and his cause of death was confirmed in his obituary.
“The beloved singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett passed away at his home in Sag Harbor, Long Island on Friday September 1, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. Buffett, 76, had been fighting Merkel Cell Skin Cancer for four years,” the obituary read.
While Buffett was endured a few brief hospitalizations during his treatments, he only had to cancel or reschedule a couple of shows during that time. He continued to perform as much as possible during treatment, with his last show being a surprise appearance in Rhode Island in July.
