Jason Aldean Reflects On Past EOTY Wins

Jason Aldean has won the ACM’s Entertainer of the Year award three times. He won in 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Aldean is nominated for the award again this year. In a rare move, the ACM opted to nominate seven artists for the award instead of the usual five. In addition to Aldean, the other nominees are Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, and reigning winner Miranda Lambert.

Aldean told Taste of Country he’s happy to be nominated for the Entertainer of the Year award once more:

Especially at this point in my career,” he noted. He went on to say, “Sometimes you got all these newer guys coming up and it’s like, maybe our heydey of getting some of those kind of things has kind of passed. So when you get one it’s really cool and exciting.”

Jason’s Pick To Win The Award This Year

Despite being a nominee, Aldean is actually pulling for someone else to win Entertainer of the Year this Year. He shared his choice, saying, “It’s hard to look past Morgan (Wallen) at this point. I mean, what else do you gotta do?

He added, “For me, Morgan would be the guy that I would look at and go, ‘He’s been hotter, bigger than anybody else in our genre.’ That’s who I would think should get it.

This comes as Wallen recently announced he has to drop out of performing at the ACM Awards on Thursday (May 11). He is currently on a six-week vocal rest, and has canceled all of his performances during that time.
