Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean had an unexpected adventure after the plane they were traveling on was forced to land just after taking off in St. Louis on Friday, January 12.

Luke Bryan went live on Instagram to share details of the incident that resulted in an unexpected road trip for the pair. In the Live, Luke and Jason Aldean are ordering a meal from a Dairy Queen drive-in somewhere on I-55 south of St. Louis.

The “Crash My Party” singer shared that he and Jason had gone duck hunting that morning then flew to St. Louis to do the ATA Show (Archery Trade Association), a trade show to promote commerce within the archery and bowhunting community. They were supposed to get back on the plane for a quick 30-minute return flight, but frigid temperatures upset their plans.

Aldean joked that they thought the plane was “gonna fall out of the sky.”

“We took off and it was so cold in St. Louis … some of the instruments on the plane were not…”Luke said. ” So we had to turn around and land, yeah, it was a little tense.”

So, the duo rented a car to drive themselves back and stopped for a bite to eat on the way. “So now we’re at Dairy Queen getting some chicken fingers. I just peed beside the road. And Jason’s the driver,” Luke added.

“Because I don’t trust you to drive, actually,” Jason replied.

The change of plans seemed like only a minor inconvenience for Luke and Jason who were in great spirits. In fact, Luke was almost giddy, laughing as he recounted the story.

Fans begged the two to document more of their road trip online, but the brief video was all that they shared. Watch the full video below.
